“Los Sueños” da artista argentina Ariadna Lasser trabalha o ato de sonhar para estudar as pegadas lamacentas de um rugido que já não existe mais, uma esfera em desaparecimento que carrega a fantástica história de seu próprio universo encolhido. Mapeando sites de câmeras de segurança ao redor do mundo durante o período pandêmico, tempo que nos desestabilizou e ainda desestabiliza de tantas formas, Ariadna passou a visitar florestas cobertas de neve, pássaros circulando penhascos e coiotes descansando na relva. Quando seus sonhos começam a se misturar com os sonhos dos animais dentro da tela, com os sonhos das lentes das câmeras, ela se questiona quando foi que nossos devaneios se tornaram os únicos relevantes. ​

Em seu artigo “C’es un monde qui s’en va”, a filósofa Vinciane Despret reflete sobre o pombo-passageiro, uma espécie extinta de pombo que era endêmica da América do Norte. Com cada existência que desaparece, é um pedaço do universo de sensações que se desvanecem. O mundo teve, com o pombo-passageiro, a sensação do bater das asas, o vento tinha seu rumo, a brisa era mais fresca e, toda natureza que foi sombreada por sua passagem, perde sua emoção. Ela termina o texto com a seguinte frase, “a humanidade pode lamentar a partida do pombo-passageiro, mas é o mundo que rebenta com a sua ausência".

A realidade que se perde com cada extinção é parte do que a artista busca ao coletar imagens da fauna e da flora sem a presença da ação humana. Naquele momento, dentro de um mundo em suspensão, a barreira entre humanos e animais se tornou inexistente. Seus sonhos se mesclam e a percepção da possibilidade passa a fazer parte das sensações.

“Los Sueños” by Argentinian artist Ariadna Lasser uses the act of dreaming to study the muddy footprints of a roar that no longer exists, a disappearing sphere that carries the fantastic story of its own shrunken universe. Mapping security camera sites around the world during the pandemic period, a time that destabilized and still destabilizes us in so many ways, Ariadna began to visit snow-covered forests, birds circling cliffs and coyotes resting in the grass. When her dreams start to mix with the dreams of the animals inside the screen, with the dreams of the camera lens, she wonders when our daydreams became the only ones that matter. ​

In her article “C’es un monde qui s’en va”, philosopher Vinciane Despret reflects on the passenger pigeon, an extinct species of pigeon that was endemic to North America. With each existence that disappears, it is a piece of the universe of sensations that disappears. The world had, with the passenger pigeon, the feeling of flapping wings, the wind had its course, the breeze was cooler and all nature that was shaded by its passage, loses its emotion. She ends the text with the following sentence, "Humanity may regret the departure of the passenger pigeon, but it is the world that bursts with its absence".

The reality that is lost with each extinction is part of what the artist seeks when collecting images of fauna and flora without the presence of human action. At that moment, within a world in suspension, the barrier between humans and animals became non-existent. Their dreams merge and the perception of possibility becomes part of the sensations.
